Edmond Van Mullem

October 9, 1931 ~ May 15, 2017

Edmond Van Mullem, 85, passed away on May 15, 2017 at Springmeadows Assisted Living, where he lived the last 23 months.  He was born October 9, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois, to Joseph Van Mullem, Sr. and Alice Van Mullem.  In 1935, the family moved to Winter, Wisconsin, and were involved in farming.

Ed attended school in Winter and, after graduation, spent four years in the Air Force.  He then returned home to farm.  Ed enjoyed cross-country skiing, camping, and helping with the Boy Scouts.  In 1980, at the age of 48, Ed hiked a good part of the Appalachian Trail.

In 1988, he moved to Somers, Montana, to be near his parents.  In May 2013, Ed moved to Bozeman to be closer to his brother, Joe.  He enjoyed the Bozeman Senior Center every weekday for two years.

He is survived by his brother, Joe (wife, Betty) of Bozeman; brother, Albert (wife, Chris) of Sussex, WI; sister, Rosemary Glessing of Baltimore, MD; sister, Geraldine Hall of Deer Park, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to give a special thank you to Springmeadows and Hospice of Bozeman Health for their care and support.

Ed will be fondly remembered by his friends in Winter, Somers, and Bozeman.  He was a very gentle soul.

Graveside services will be held at a later date in Kalispell.

Family Feedback

"Thank you for your caring and efficient service on the death of my husband.  I appreciated your handling of the necessary, but tedious paperwork that accompanies every death.  It was a relief to me to leave those details in your capable hands."
