Lee Hostetter

September 2, 1950 ~ June 05, 2017

Service: June 12, 2017 1:00 PM
Location: The Bozeman Church of Christ

Lee Murray Hostetter was called home to be with his Lord on June 4, 2017, at the age of 66.

Lee was born on September 2, 1950, in Bozeman, MT. He was the third child of Robert and Mary Hostetter. Aside from a 15-year stint in Spokane, WA, and 1-year in Newberg, OR, Lee was a proud Bozeman native.

Lee graduated from Bozeman Senior High in 1970 and later attended Cosmetology School at Mr. Mac’s. He owned and operated his own hair salon before moving to Spokane in 1986. Once in Spokane, Lee received an Electronics Degree from Spokane Technical Institute. He then worked in production and manufacturing in Spokane before returning to Bozeman in 2002. He was employed with Montana Furniture and Blackhawk before retiring in 2016.

In 1974 Lee met Calla Levengood, and they were married September 1975 in Bozeman, MT, and had two children.  Lee is survived by his wife, Calla; daughter, Lauren Smith and Damon and their children Alexander, Abbie-lyn and Alora of Spokane, WA; son, Lance Hostetter and Rose and their children Willow and Meadow of Spokane, WA; brother, Ken Hostetter and Judy of Billings, MT; sister, Betty Free and John of Bozeman, MT; sister, Patty Laird and Scott of Great Falls, MT; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are his parents, Robert and Mary Hostetter.

Lee enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping, the Bozeman mountains, sunrise and sunset and a good cup of coffee. He was deeply loyal to his family, friends and dogs. He is fondly remembered for the twinkle in his eye, silly sound effects and always being up for a friendly conversation on just about any topic. He loved fellowship and is well-known for his joy and kindness. Lee had several fishing trips planned this summer with family and friends. He was an avid Seattle Mariners baseball fan and rooted for the Green Bay Packers during football season. One of Lee’s greatest accomplishments was becoming a Christian at the age of 12. He was involved with the Church of Christ most of his life and developed several deep and lasting relationships; he will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held at the Bozeman Church of Christ, 1825 W. Kagy Blvd., Bozeman, MT, on Monday June 12th at 1:00 p.m., with Scott Free, Lee’s nephew, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Yellowstone Bible Camp, in care of Bozeman Church of Christ.
