Willard John Van Dyke passed away August 17, 2017 in Bozeman, MT.

Willard was born May 25, 1936 in Bozeman to Lawrence and Cora (Kline) Van Dyke. He was raised in the Manhattan area and worked at farms throughout the Gallatin Valley before joining the Army in 1955.

After his honorable discharge, Willard married Sylvia Ham, whom he had met while attending Manhattan Christian School. They were married on January 29, 1965, in Grand Rapids, MI. Willard and Sylvia returned to Montana where he continued working for farms. In his younger days, he enjoyed gardening and hunting.

Willard owned Captain Clean and worked as a janitor for Montana State University. After retiring from MSU, he was a fertilizer salesman and de-odorized cars for dealerships.

Willard is survived by his wife, Sylvia; sons, Randy (Jennifer) Van Dyke of Port Angeles, WA and Dennis Van Dyke of Bozeman; daughters, Sandy (Mark) McLees and Barbara Van Dyke, both of San Antonio, TX; twelve grandchildren, Joshua (Ploy), Ryan, Brianna, Tanner, Kitriana, Michael, Levi, Jade (Scott), Gabriella, Chloe, Leila, and Justus; one great-granddaughter, Katlyn; two brothers, Clarence and Bob; sisters-in-law, Joan, Betty, Ann, Betty; step sister-in-law, Delores (Jerry) Wagner; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents; brothers, Neal (Douwina) Arnold, Jim, Ray, and Louie; sisters, Sadie (Jack) Oostema, Bernie (George) Veltkamp, Margaret (Bert) Kamerman; and infant sister, Margaret; great-grandson, Ethan; and sister-in-law, Kathy (Alfred) Bosch.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 21, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service. Graveside services with military honors will take place Tuesday, August 22 at 10:00 at Hills Cemetery. A celebration of life will follow at 11 a.m. at Bozeman Christian Reformed Church.
