Beulah Lee Hagerman, 86, of Bozeman, MT, passed away October 20, 2017.  She was born April 26, 1931, in Bozeman to Leonard and Ethel (Andrews) Sorenson.  She grew up in the Bozeman Pass area where she attended Malmborg School, a one-room schoolhouse where four generations of family also attended.  She graduated from Gallatin County High School in 1949.

She married Elmo Hagerman on November 5, 1949, in Butte, MT, and they raised three children.

Beulah worked for Owenhouse Hardware, Darigold, Kessler Dairy and Badgley Disbributing.  She enjoyed horseback riding and doing ranch work including feeding her cows and baling hay.  Her latest mount was her 4-wheeler, known to family as her “Japanese Quarterhorse”.  She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed sewing and quilting for her family.  She loved to dance.  She loved hosting family gatherings where her biscuits and cinnamon rolls were always requested.  She was a loving, kind, gentle yet very strong woman who was greatly loved by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.  Beulah is survived by her son, Dale (Lori) Hagerman of Molt, MT; daughters, Beverly (Jim) Coogan of Denver, CO, and Betty (Jerry) Doornbos of Manhattan, MT; sisters, Marge (Dale) Nord of Cantwell, AK, and Peggy Stradley of Belgrade, MT; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, Brian (Alison) Hagerman and great-grandchildren, Brinley and Wyatt; Nicole (Drew) Miller and great-granddaughter, Zella; Erik (Carrie) Hagerman and great-granddaughter, Ilianna; Michael Doornbos; Carrie (Doug) Johnson and great-grandchildren, McLane and Brooklyn; and Chris Coogan; niece, Cheryl (Mike) Friend; and nephew, Scott Stradley; and cousin and honorary sister, Leilani Erps.

She was the rock of this family.  A very special lady who will truly be missed.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 3rd from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 4, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service with interment to follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery.  A reception will follow at the Malmborg School.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Beulah’s name to Gallatin Historical Society, 317 W. Main St., Bozeman, MT 59715 or to a charity of your choice.
