Leta Wallace

July 9, 1933 ~ November 14, 2017

Leta Marie Wallace, 84, of Belgrade passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017.

Leta was born July 9, 1933 in Howe, Oklahoma, to Robert Chester and Oma Lee (Bowles) Underwood.  She graduated from Poly High in Long Beach, California.  She met Billy Quinten Wallace and they were married December 2, 1950 in New Jersey.  Together, they had four children, Sharon, Bill, Ron, and Lori.  They lived in Westminster, CA, Kanab, UT, and Meridian, ID. Billy died in 2006, and Leta moved to Belgrade in 2012 to be closer to Sharon.

Leta enjoyed being a homemaker until 1976, at which point she worked as a data processor for 14 years.  She was involved with her childrens’ activities, namely PTA, Girl Scouts, and Boy Scouts.  She also loved traveling and working with her hands, particularly sewing, quilting, and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy, and her parents.

Survivors include her children, Sharon (Pete) DeJongh, Bill Wallace, Ron (Marilyn) Wallace, and Lori (Gilbert) Berg; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; sister, Fleta Wasson; and brother, Robert Underwood.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.  Interment will be held at Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise.

Family Feedback

"All of us want to express our gratitude for the way you thought ahead of us and eased the process of planning at this hard time.  So many of the fine touches you added were just right.  You made us feel we were the only ones on your itinerary and had all the time in the world to deal with us."
