March 22, 1953 ~ December 07, 2017

Visitation: December 13, 2017 9:30 AM
Location: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center, Colter Ave, Bozeman

Robyn Ann White Bauder Cavaness passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Bozeman, MT on December 7, 2017 following a courageous battle with cancer.  Robyn was born to Marion Floyd White and Beverly Jean Larson White in Salt Lake City, UT on March 22, 1953.  She was raised in Tooele, UT and later attended school at Utah State University and North Dakota State University.  She earned her degree in Early Childhood Development from Utah State in 1974.

Robyn married James Warren Bauder on June 30, 1973 in Tooele, UT and together they brought into the world four children.  While they ultimately parted ways in marriage, they saw eye-to-eye in raising their four children (Holly, Warren, Logan and Lindsey) together.  Robyn later married Michael Allen Cavaness on March 12, 2001 on a sunny beach in Mazatlán, Mexico.  Robyn and Mike’s union expanded the sphere of her children to include Mike’s two sons (Zac and Matt).  Robyn’s capacity to nurture and raise her children and her 13 grandchildren was limitless.

After 12 years raising her own children alongside countless friends’ and neighbors’ children in her in-home daycare business, Robyn branched out and applied her gift at the ASMSU Preschool for 27 years.  She touched the lives of hundreds, if not thousands, of children in their formidable years of learning.  Many of those children remained in contact with Miss Robyn throughout her life and she never forgot a face.

Robyn and Mike enjoyed many wilderness adventures together.  Their active lifestyle allowed them to venture far and wide, from the Alaskan arctic to the tropics of South America.  As “first rate, second mates”, they were capable and comfortable embarking on trips relying only upon themselves but also enjoyed sharing their exploits with life-long friends.  Robyn was equally at home reading a book on the beach or bundled in rain gear battling the elements miles from civilization.

Robyn’s talent with children was only surpassed by her skills in the kitchen.  Whether it was baking cinnamon rolls with grandchildren, making cookies for neighbors or simply getting dinner on the table, her recipes were the envy of all.  Arguably, her greatest joy was working in the kitchen alongside her children, grandchildren, sisters and friends.  She also had the ability to take every opportunity to create a tradition and set the bar high.  We will forever be trying to live up to the expectations she set for Easter egg hunts, Gingerbread house decorating, Christmas Eve extravaganzas, Birthday cake themes, or any special occasion which warranted party planning.  She always took it to the Nth degree.  She made sure you felt loved and special every chance she had.

Robyn’s greatest pride was her family.  She is survived by her husband, Mike; her children, Holly Orrell (Sheridan), Warren Bauder (Gretchen), Logan Bauder (Katie Nunn), and Lindsey Bauder (Hunter Walker); stepsons, Zac Cavaness and Matt Cavaness; sisters, Susie Morris (John) and Wendy McCleery (Dave); brother, Douglas White (Carolyn); mother, Beverly White; numerous nieces and nephews and their children; and her grandchildren, Madeline, Garrett, Levi, Claire, Reese, Drew, Charlie Bell, Zoie, Logan, Carter, Trevor, Sonia Jane and Alicia.  She was preceded in death by her brother, David White, and her father, Floyd White.

A memorial service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Bozeman, MT on Wednesday, December 13 at 11:00 A.M. with visitation that morning from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at the church. Interment will follow on Saturday, December 16 at 11:00 A.M. at the Tooele City Cemetery in Tooele, UT followed by an open house luncheon at the Tooele LDS Church.  Memorials to benefit parks, recreation and children in her honor can be made to the charity of your choice or the Robyn Ann Cavaness Memorial Account at First Security Bank - Montana.
