Judith Figgins

May 27, 1934 ~ January 02, 2018

Judith Grieve Figgins was given the gift of life on May 27, 1934, in Tacoma, Washington. She spent splendid childhood years playing along the beaches of Dash Point, Washington, with her cousin, Jimmy Blauvelt. She moved to Montana at the age of 11, graduating from Park County High School in 1954. She married Robert Figgins on September,16 1956. Their union was blessed with six beautiful children – Carol, Joyce, Gretchen, Karsen, Billy, and Tommy.

She was the quintessential homemaker. She enjoyed growing bountiful gardens and cooking fabulous homemade meals. Her meticulous attention to detail allowed her to create anything from Barbie clothes to wedding dresses. She also enjoyed painting with watercolors, hiking, antiques, and refinishing furniture. She left a legacy of love for animals, especially cats, to her children and grandchildren.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Christopher and Maud Grieve; sister, Maxine; brother, Richard; and son, Thomas. Judy is survived by her brother, Doug Grieve (Barb); daughters, Carol Gee (Ron), Joyce Young, Gretchen Hedrick (Chuck), Karsen Stromberg (Travis); son, Billy Figgins (Samone); grandchildren, Olivia (Colton), Madeline, Victoria (Lyle), Nathan, Monte, Libby, Karly, Kendall, and Harris; great-granddaughter, Ashlynn; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved cats, Mousey, Abby, and Maggie.

Her children are grateful for the memories of cabin life in Paradise Valley and the Crazy Mountains. Her passion for motherhood is dearly treasured by her children. Mom, we will always be grateful to you for your kind hearted, warm personality and sentimental soul.

Judy’s Family would like to thank Hospice of Bozeman Health.

Gifts in loving memory of Judy can be donated to Stafford Animal Shelter, 3 Business Park Rd., Livingston, MT 59047. A private scattering of ashes will take place this next summer.

A private family celebration will be held in the summer.

"All of us want to express our gratitude for the way you thought ahead of us and eased the process of planning at this hard time.  So many of the fine touches you added were just right.  You made us feel we were the only ones on your itinerary and had all the time in the world to deal with us."
