Shauna Janae (Norton) Butler

Shauna Janae Butler, age 59, of Bozeman, MT, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, September 12, 2018. She was surrounded by her family when she passed after a hard-fought battle with cancer. She was born July 19, 1959, in Salt Lake City, UT, to Lamar and Velma (Hullinger) Norton. Shauna graduated from Granite High School, where she excelled academically and socially. She was one of the eight “Letter Highs”, the pinnacle of the Granite Cheer squad.

After meeting her sweetheart, Gregory “Buzz” Butler, on a blind date, they were married on January 14, 1981; they were married for 37 years.  They were later sealed for time and eternity, in the Salt Lake City Temple, with their three children.

Shauna was a devoted partner to her husband in business and life. Together they made a successful team to provide for themselves and family. Moving to MT was an impactful event and brought great blessings to their family.

Shauna was full of life, love, and energy; her smile was contagious. She was a friend to everyone; there was never a stranger in the room. Shauna’s pride and joy were her children and grandchildren, her legacy will live on through them. Her talents, spiritual gifts, and love for Christ, allowed her to serve and care for others in all areas of her life, which included her many leadership callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. However, her greatest calling in life was being a mom and “Queen Grandma”.

Shauna is survived by her loving husband, Buzz, and their children Brooke Delph (Tim), Troy Butler (Ashley) and Janelle Hildreth (Aaron), ten grandchildren, six siblings, nieces and nephews, and other family and friends. Shauna was welcomed into the next life by her parents, and other loved ones that went before.

The memorial services are scheduled as follows: The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 11AM at the LDS Stake Center, 2915 Colter Ave., Bozeman, MT, with a viewing prior at 10AM.  There will be an additional viewing on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 from 6-8PM at Dokken–Nelson Funeral Service, 113 S. Wilson Ave., Bozeman, MT.
