Everett Quandt

In loving memory of Everett Quandt, beloved husband, brother, uncle, and cousin.

Everett Duane Quandt, 83, passed away Sept. 9, 2018 at his home in Belgrade.  He was born Nov. 16, 1934 in Rochester, MN to Everett Quandt and Alice King. Ev graduated from Washington High School in MN, class of 1952. Throughout his life he lived in St. Paul, Hugh, and Rochester, MN, and Belgrade.

He went into the Army and served his country from 1957-59 and was stationed in Ft Huachuca, AZ and Germany. Later, he worked at Western Life Insurance in St. Paul where he met the love of his life, Phyllis Sams.

In 1983, Phyllis and Ev moved to Belgrade Montana to build a beautiful life together. Here they enjoyed retirement and their love of the outdoors. They spent 46 wonderful years together before Phyllis’ passing in 2008.   

Ev loved spending time with Phyllis while pursuing their passions. This included duck hunting, fishing, gardening, going on gambling trips, and watching the Vikings play. He also enjoyed golf, bowling, and most of all, cherished time spent with family and friends.

He is survived by his brother, Orville (Phyllis) Quandt; step-brother, Dennis Capaul; cousins, Kenny, Richard, and Gordon Quandt; nephew, Carl (Pat) Olsson; nieces, Ramona Quandt, Sheila Arnold (Quandt), Melinda Tadilla (Quandt), Gail Forsberg, Nancy Herndon (Forsberg), and Karin Olsson; great-nephews, Jeremy Schoessler (Jeanine) and Tanner Herndon; great-nieces, Codi Wormgoor (Schoessler – husband, Nick), Amber Crossno (Herndon – husband, Justin), and Katherine Olsson; great-great-nephews, Trenton and Jacob Wormgoor; and great-great-nieces, Shyler and Oaklyn Crossno.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Phyllis Sams (Forsberg); parents, Everett Victor Quandt and Alice King; nephew, Mark Quandt; and niece, Annette Schoessler (Forsberg).

A Celebration of Ev’s Life will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 25 at Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Belgrade Senior Center, Hospice of Bozeman Health, and Bozeman Health Cancer Center.
