Beverly Ferguson Bacon, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed in peace Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at the age of 90.

She was born to the late Enoch Douglas Ferguson and Agnes Ellen Ferguson on June 8, 1928, in Tacoma, Washington.  She went on to spend most of her childhood in Bozeman, Montana, where she ultimately met her beloved husband, Richard (Dick) H. Bacon, Jr., who preceded her in death.  During their 46 years of marriage, they traveled around the world on multiple military assignments until retirement where they settled in Santa Barbara, California, for 15 years, later returning to Bozeman as empty nesters.  In 2007, Beverly moved to Austin, Texas, to reside at Querencia Retirement Community near family.

Beverly was defined by a constant curiosity about people and the world.  She had a love of animals, paleontology, reading, travel, needlework, and birdwatching.

Beverly is survived by her sister, Mary Jane Rodemeyer; and three children, Joan Gallup, Kirtley Holmberg, and Richard Bacon.  She is also survived by seven granddaughters, Haley Hutting, Katie Kreider, Sara Olsen, Amy Bacon, Heather Bacon, Megan Holmberg, and Nicole Holmberg; and four great-grandsons, Miles Hutting, Kaleb Kreider, Ewan Hutting, and Luka Kreider.

A celebration of life will be held in Austin, TX, at Querencia Longhorn Room on Sunday, September 30 at 2:00 PM.  A graveside service will be held in Bozeman, MT, at Sunset Hills Cemetery at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 6.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to National Jewish Health Respiratory Hospital or Montana State University.
