Gordon A. Dykstra, 96, of Bozeman, MT, passed from this earth into the presence of his Lord and Savior on October 26, 2018. 

Born on September 6, 1922, on a farm west of Anceney, he was the son of Andrew and Grace (Sinnema) Dykstra, brother to Ida and Norman.  He attended school in the area and served his country for a time in the Navy.  He farmed with his father on a 600-acre dry land farm on the bench west of Amsterdam and retired in Bozeman.

Gordon was a great conversationalist and loved spending time with family and friends.  He was interested in the legal system and spent many hours in the court room as cases were being heard.  He spent his later years in the home of his grandniece, Kristin Dykstra and her children who were an excellent caregivers.  He loved the Lord and was a life-long member of Manhattan Christian Reformed Church.

Gordon was predeceased by his sister, Ida (Henry) Uiterdyk; brother, Norman (Jennie) Dykstra; nephews, Allen and Kenneth Dykstra; and niece, Marlys Uiterdyk. 

He is survived by his nephews, Howard (Lynda) Uiterdyk, and Leonard (Holly) Uiterdyk; nieces, Joyce (Winson) Elgersma, Mildred (Kenneth) Vos, and Linda Dykstra.  Also surviving are many grand-nieces and nephews; and great-grand-nieces and nephews.  

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 31, at Hills Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, 1732 South 72nd St. West. Billings, MT 59106.
