Irene Louise Tompers, 88, of Bozeman, MT died of natural causes on Thursday, November 8, 2018.

Irene was born September 25, 1930 in Parshall, ND to Anne (Reidman) and Albert Brendle.  She graduated from Parshall High School and married Rodney Tompers at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Van Hook, ND on November 15, 1949.  After their marriage, they moved to Garrison, ND where she maintained their home. Later they moved to Billings, MT and then to Great Falls, MT to be near family.   Irene loved to play cards, especially bridge, and knit, donating many baby caps to Benefis Hospital in Great Falls.  Along with knitting she loved to find new recipes for Rodney to make, rescue rabbits, entertain, and garage sale. Mrs. Tompers was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include her son, Kelly Tompers and his wife, Bev of Belgrade, MT; daughter-in-law, Ronda Tompers of Great Falls; special friend, Pat (Jeanne) Koppinger of Yuma, AZ; six grandchildren, Chad (Conradine) Tompers of Bozeman, Kristen (Les) Bruner and Peter (Kristi) Tompers, both of Great Falls, Jessi (Travis) Hegg of Buxton, ND, Emily Tompers (Cavin Segil) of Bozeman, and Zach Tompers of Richland, WA; and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney; daughter, Patricia Ann Tompers; son, David Tompers; great-grandson, Alexander Hegg; parents, Anne and Albert Brendle; brothers, Rudolph Brendle and Ralph Brendle; and sisters, Pauline Melgard, Veronica Amann, Dorothy Waldock, and Matilda Tompers.
