Leroy Bernard Tinklenberg was born on July 28, 1930, to Charles and Cora (Koster) Tinklenberg in Pipestone County, Minnesota. He died in Bozeman, Montana on November 26, 2018, at the age of 88.

Leroy was in the United States Marine Corps from 1952 to 1954.

Leroy married Evelyn DeBoer on January 1, 1951, in Pease, Minnesota. They were blessed with 55 years of marriage. They moved to the Gallatin Valley in 1982.

Leroy is preceded in death by wife, Evelyn, in 2006; his parents; two brothers, Peter and Jacob; one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter.

Leroy is survived by his seven children: Steven (Leann) Tinklenberg, Donna (Arlyn) DeKam, David (Debra) Tinklenberg, Sandra (Brad) Kamerman, Douglas (Julie) Tinklenberg, Sharon (James) Swets, Danette Tinklenberg; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and his brother, Robert (Karla) Tinklenberg.

Visitation with the family will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 28 at Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, November 29 at Hills Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the United Reformed Church in Belgrade, Montana.
