Isabella Rassley

December 18, 1916 ~ January 03, 2019

Isabella Rose Rassley died peacefully at the Gallatin Rest Home on January 3, 2019, after a well spent 102 years.  She was born on December 18, 1916 to Frederick and Mary Evelyn (Pease) Ham in Bozeman, Montana.

Isabella, the oldest of four children, grew up on the family homestead in Bridger Canyon with her two sisters and brother. She graduated from Gallatin County High School in 1935.  Isabella married Michael J. (Buck) Rassley on November 20, 1935, and they spent their time working and living in Gallatin County. They had one son, Michael R. (Ron) Rassley.

She loved all animals, especially horses and riding. When she was older, Isabella spent several years as a member of the Bozeman Saddle-ites.

Isabella worked most of her life. She was great with numbers so she became a bookkeeper. She worked for Montgomery Ward, Gallatin Farmers Co-Op and even became the bookkeeper for Chequamegon Village, the senior community she lived in for several years prior to moving into the Bozeman Lodge.

Isabella participated in the Bozeman Senior Center and enjoyed traveling as a member.  She traveled extensively and included trips from Florida to Alaska, Hawaii to Mexico.

She had five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren, and her greatest joy came from being a part of their lives. Isabella was preceded in death by her husband, Michael J. (Buck) Rassley; her sisters, Loretta Stevens and Alberta Woosley; her brother, John Ham; and great-grandson, Patrick J. Rassley. She is survived by her son, Michael R. (Ron) Rassley; grandchildren, Connie (Daren) Brown, Bonnie Rassley, Vonnie Rassley, Lonnie (Kurt) Lewis, and Michael (Tracy) Rassley; as well as her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

A private family service has already occurred.
