Mary V. Haglund

November 7, 1931 ~ December 28, 2019

Service: January 04, 2020 2:00 to 4:00 P.M.
   Location: Bozeman Senior Center

Mary Virginia Haglund passed peacefully on December 28, 2019 at the age of 88.

Mary was born on November 7, 1931 in Mill Iron, Montana, the youngest of four children of Lawrence and Mary (Lerew) Fowler.  She graduated from Custer County High School, in Miles City in 1949. On September 16, 1951 she married John Haglund, and they lived on the Haglund Ranch in Brockway, Montana where they raised four sons and a daughter. In 1972 they moved the family to Bozeman, where she worked for the Montana Farm Bureau for many years. She was actively involved with Eastern Star, Toastmasters International, the Bozeman Senior Center, and was the first female Exalted Ruler in the Elks Lodge of Bozeman.

She enjoyed playing cards with the long-standing Misdeals Pinochle group. Playing cribbage at the Senior Center on Tuesdays was a weekly event that she loved. Many great times were had and fond memories were made while sharing laughs and a glass of wine with her friends, and she always looked forward to their gatherings. She enjoyed traveling and had the opportunity to visit many exciting and wonderful places.
Their family cabin was one of the places she loved to spend time with her large family, playing cards, cooking and sharing meals, relaxing, and listening to the creek with a fire nearby. She loved gathering her family for a meal, as having everyone around was very special and important to her, especially to watch the Bobcat football games. Her family meant everything to her and was truly her pride and joy.

She will be fondly remembered by her children, Mike (Gayle) of Bozeman, Keith (Nancy) of Livingston, Ernie (Frankie) of Bozeman, Jeff of Bozeman, Patti Lee (Carl) of Belgrade; nine grandchildren, Tawnie (Justin), Tristan Lee (Bill), Justin (Jill), Tiffany Chilton (Evan), Amanda (Rob), Merrick (Elizabeth), Kayleigh, Jordan, Jessica; five great grandchildren, Quintin and Taya Chilton, Kamden and Kynsley Lee, and Emerson Haglund; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, two brothers and sister.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 4, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Bozeman Senior Center, with a time for sharing of memories at 2:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the Bozeman Senior Center or to Frontier Home Health/Hospice in care of the Bozeman Health Foundation, Memo Line: Hospice.

"All of us want to express our gratitude for the way you thought ahead of us and eased the process of planning at this hard time.  So many of the fine touches you added were just right.  You made us feel we were the only ones on your itinerary and had all the time in the world to deal with us."
